๐Ÿง  Dual Motive Theory โ€” A Differentiating Core of Every AIU Business Course

Dr. Gerald A. Cory, Jr. (Professor Emeritus, ITU) developed Dual Motive Theory (DMT) grounded in evolutionary neuroscience and the landmark brain research of Paul MacLean. DMT posits that all human social and economic behavior is driven by two fundamental neural circuits: Ego (self-preservation, self-interest) and Empathy (affectional, other-interest). Standard economic and management theory has historically focused almost exclusively on the Ego circuit โ€” teaching, in effect, a half-theory of human behavior. AIU corrects this by integrating DMT throughout its MBA and business curriculum, equipping graduates to understand and lead the full complexity of human motivation in organizations, markets, and careers.

๐Ÿค– AI Literacy and Tools โ€” Embedded in Every Course

Every AIU course โ€” from economics to systems engineering โ€” integrates AI literacy and practical AI tool usage. Students don’t just learn about AI; they use it as a professional amplifier throughout their studies. A dedicated AI Literacy foundational course is required for all students in both programs.

Degree Programs

AIU currently offers two graduate degree programs, each 42 credits. Both integrate AI tools throughout and are designed for global affordability and accessibility.
