ITU President Yau-Gene Chan even took time out of his schedule to join the presentation and welcome Dr. Boehnlein to ITU.

Another month, another great ITU Presents! This month’s speaker discussed the role big data plays in the field of theoretical physics. Our speaker, the head of SLAC’s Scientific Computing Division, Dr. Amber Boehnlein, shared her 20 plus years of experience in the physics field. Highlights of the presentation included her anecdotes about working on the Large Hadron Collider, how the physics field has evolved in her lifetime, and how big data has the potential to transform how we view the universe.

If you missed any of the presentation, check our photo slideshow above. Also, be sure to RSVP for our next ITU Presents on November 18. Join us for an in-depth discussion with Industrial, Light, and Magic (ILM) Creative Director David Nakabayashi. If you’d like to RSVP please sign up on our EventBrite page.
