Dear Member of the December 2012 ITU Graduating Class:

I am very pleased to inform you that the Executive Committee of the WASC Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities (ACSCU) has unanimously voted to move the effective date of ITU’s WASC accreditation by one month to December 1, 2012.

This is a rare and exceptional move by the Commission that was done at ITU’s request so that the degree you earned in December of 2012 is now recognized as falling within our period of accreditation. To put it another way, this action means that the Master’s degree from ITU that you received in December 2012 is a WASC accredited graduate degree.

This change will appear shortly on the WASC Website and will be indicated on all transcripts provided for you regarding this degree.

It was not within ITU’s power or WASC’s power to extend this accreditation back any farther, but ITU made the case on your behalf that you completed all of your requirements for the degree after the completion of the site-visit report and would have missed the accreditation window by only a matter of weeks. Based on this request, the WASC Commission did all they could to see that your degree and hard work is recognized by a WASC accredited degree.

Be proud of your accomplishments and your ITU degree. Please stay connected with your Alma Mater. If ITU can be of further assistance to you as you advance in your career, please let us know.

Congratulations to you and all of your classmates of the graduating class of December 2012!
