San Jose, CA – International Technological University launches the Computer Science Department, improving its academic rigor and competitiveness over other leading universities in the Silicon Valley. This concerted effort bridges three critical areas of study within the computer science field with program offerings in Computer Science, Software Engineering and the newly created Information & Cyber Security.

 

Our Computer Science (CS) graduate programs focus on developing a student’s mastery of comp sci principles and acquiring well founded theoretical knowledge to contribute to computerization in current fields and those not yet known. The curriculum prepares the graduates for successful careers in the demanding and ever-growing job market in all fields of society that experience computerization in any form.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

A solid knowledge of the computer science principles underlying all computerization and program development, augmented by training in leading-edge practical skills, will enable graduates to play leadership roles in industry as well as to pursue PhD degrees. The following program offerings are designed to give students a holistic STEM education.

 

Master of Science in Computer Science

The Master of Science in Computer Science covers theoretical as well as practical issues of computer science such that it allows students to master their knowledge in algorithms, operating systems, compliers, internals of databases, visuals and sound recognition, robotics and more.

Program Requirements

Required Courses:

  • 4 Core Courses: 12 credit hours
  • 1 Capstone Course - Project or Thesis: 3 credit hours
  • 1 Internship: 1 credit hour

Elective Courses: 11-20 credit hours

  • Internship: 1-9 credit hours
  • Cross Disciplinary Course: Up to 3 credit hours
  • Transfer Credits: Up to 9 credit hours

Master of Science in Software Engineering

The Master of Science in Software Engineering prepares its graduates for successful careers as computer scientists or software engineers in all fields that utilize computerization or software.

Program Requirements

Required Courses:

  • 4 Core Courses: 12 credit hours
  • 1 Capstone Course - Project or Thesis: 3 credit hours.
  • Internship: 1 credit hour

Elective Courses: 1-9 credit hours

  • Cross Disciplinary Electives: Up to 3 credit hours
  • Cross Disciplinary Course: Up to 3 credit hours
  • Transfer Credits: Up to 9 credit hours

36 Total Credit Hours

Master of Science in Information & Cyber Security

Lastly, the newly created Master of Science in Information & Cyber Security delves deep into the world of cyber security that is critical to protecting sensitive government and business information. The curriculum covers network security, risk and data management, preventative measures, computer ethics, cryptography and more.

Program Requirements

Required Courses:

  • 4 Core Courses: 12 credit hours
  • 1 Capstone Course - Project or Thesis: 3 credit hours
  • 1 Internship: 1 credit hour

Elective Courses: 11-20 credit hours

  • Internship: 1-9 credit hours
  • Cross Disciplinary Course: Up to 3 credit hours
  • Transfer Credits: Up to 9 credit hours

36 Total Credit Hours

The programs take as little as 16 months to complete and a GRE is not required for applying to the program. Students will have the flexibility to take courses in the evening, weekend and online starting Spring 2019. Merit based scholarships and financing options available to students.
