General Application Requirements

Admission eligibility: all eligible applicants to any ITU graduate program, must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent from an accredited institution. ITU reserves the right to probe or prohibit educational credential submissions on an ad-hoc basis.

Application completion: The application for admission must be successfully completed and submitted online. Prior to submission, applicants may save and return to the online application and make changes. Please note that after submission, no changes to your application can be made. In addition, it is highly recommended that you make copies of all submitted documents to keep for your personal use as we will not provide originals or copies of submitted documents.

Admission Requirements & Process

ITU’s Office of Admissions requires all applicants to complete and submit the online application - we do not accept paper-based applications.

Upload the following:

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Resume
  • Transcripts
  • Test scores (where applicable)
  • Letters of Recommendation (where applicable)

The ITU application fee is pro-rated based on the application period and is payable by Visa, Discover or MasterCard major credit cards. Please note: all application fees are non-refundable. Application fee waivers are granted for individuals who express financial hardship. Please complete the application fee waiver section of the online application if you wish to request an application fee waiver.

At ITU, students are motivated and committed to complete their respective programs with the ultimate goal of enhancing their fields of study. The Admissions Review Committee wants to understand your goals, and career plans as they relate to your academic endeavors. A 750-word, typed, well-written, statement explaining why you wish to pursue graduate study in your particular program at ITU must include your name (as it appears on your application) and be uploaded to the Statement of Purpose section of the application. (Mailed submissions are not accepted)

A copy of your most recent résumé or curriculum vitae must be uploaded to the online application. (Mailed submissions are not accepted)

We welcome students from all majors and backgrounds and look for some demonstration of aptitude for both quantitative and qualitative course work. Admitted students typically have a cumulative gpa of 2.75 or higher. If you have less than a 2.75 cumulative gpa and your undergraduate curriculum did not include quantitative course work, we strongly recommend that you take the GRE or GMAT to demonstrate your quantitative abilities.

Transcripts in English from the United States

You may upload unofficial or student-reported documentation for admission consideration. You will be required to provide an official transcript upon acceptance to the program.

Upload a PDF transcript to the Transcripts section of the online application from all post-secondary institutions where you have attended and earned credits, including but not limited to:

  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions you transferred to/from, or from which you have partially completed a degree
  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions that have awarded you a degree/diploma
  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions that will award you a degree/diploma
Transcripts in English from Outside of the United States

Upload a PDF transcript to the Transcripts section of the online application from all post-secondary institutions where you have attended and earned credits, including but not limited to:

  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions you transferred to/from, or from which you have partially completed a degree
  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions that have awarded you a degree/diploma
  • Accredited graduate or undergraduate institutions that will award you a degree/diploma
Transcripts in a Language Other than English from Outside of the United States

Academic performance documentation that is not officially issued in English by the institution must be submitted with an official English-Language translation. Translations will not be accepted from the individual applicant or applicant family/ friend.

Official translations must be provided by one of the following entities:

  • The institution issuing the transcript
  • A consulate or embassy of the United States or of the institution’s country
  • A professional, certified and/or accredited translation agency
Guidelines for English-language translations:
  • Layout in the same format as the original record
  • Complete and literal replication of the original record without interpretation or evaluation notations
  • Presented on translation preparer agency letterhead with contact information and official signature/approval seal

Mastery of the English language is critical to the ITU learning experience. All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency including reading, writing and comprehension. ITU accepts TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and/or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test scores as proof of English language proficiency. One test score is required for the following:

  • All international applicants (who currently possess, or will require a visa)
  • Applicants (including US citizens and US Permanent Residents) whose first language is not English and/or who have not completed a bachelor’s degree in the United States.

International Technological University requires that graduate applicants achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 72 or better on the internet-based test or an overall band of 6.0 or higher on IELTS.

TOEFL & IELTS test scores are valid for two (2) years. The ITU TOEFL institution code is 4446.

Currently, ITU does not require GRE or GMAT test score submissions for admission consideration to ITU programs. In cases where the applicant’s cumulative gpa is less than 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, submission of a GRE and/or GMAT is highly recommended.

Currently, ITU does not require letters of recommendation for admission consideration to ITU programs. In cases where the applicant’s prior academic background/ experience is not in the STEM fields, submission of letters of recommendation from field-professionals is highly recommended. Please note: only letters of recommendation (1) composed within the past six months, (2) submitted on company letterhead and (3) via PDF format are accepted for admission consideration.
