Transfer Student Procedure
If you have F1 status with an I20 from another school, you can maintain your F1 status when you transfer to ITU

  • To transfer your I20 to ITU, you need to apply and receive a Letter of Acceptance and ITU F1 Transfer Form; then you can request your school to transfer your Sevis records to ITU before classes start
  • Students on OPT from another school should be aware that the OPT will expire when Sevis transfer takes place (plan for the transfer date so it does not take much time from your OPT and does not conflict with ITU semester registration deadlines); if you wish to continue working, you will need to apply for ITU CPT authorization
  • Once a student’s Sevis records have been transferred to ITU, we will create a new ITU I20; we cannot create the I20 prior to the transfer date
